Tri State Building Center was founded in 2011 by childhood best friends and lifetime Sisseton residents Brett Hanson, his brother Troy, and their longtime best friend, Dan Evenson. However, the partnership between the brothers and Dan dates back 13 years earlier when the three started Hanson & Evenson Construction. Being in the construction business since 1998, the three knew what was missing for builders in the Sisseton area. Tri State Building Center was founded on the idea that local is best.

Servicing contractors and do-it-yourselfers for projects ranging from home remodeling to pole barn construction, we are known for being the local stop for tools and hardware. The goal was never to compete with the big box stores but to offer something they couldn’t: a familiar face and an in-depth knowledge of what products work best for the area.

By staying local, Tri State Building Center has become a leading community partner, donating time, supplies, and resources to youth programs and fundraisers. Brett, Troy, and Dan understand that part of succeeding is lifting up everyone around you, and have partnered with Tiospa Zina, Sisseton public schools, and multiple private teams and individuals to help raise funds for sports, clubs and individuals in the Sisseton community.
